Important Notice for End Users (Students): If you are accessing a learning portal hosted on the StudyJam App by your educational institution or tutor, that Client acts as the Data Controller responsible for your course content and personal profile. StudyJam acts strictly as a Data Processor operating on the Client’s instructions. Inquiries regarding your personal records or course participation should primarily be addressed to your respective institution.
1. Overview & Applicability
This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) describes how Codesap Technologies LLP (“Company,” “StudyJam,” “we,” “our,” or “us”), having its registered office at UL Cyberpark, Kozhikode, Kerala 673016, India, collects, uses, processes, stores, shares, and protects your personal information when you download, install, register, or interact with the StudyJam Mobile Application (“App”) and its integrated Learning Management System (LMS) services (collectively, the “Services”).

3. Data Controller vs. Data Processor Roles
StudyJam as Data Controller: We act as a Data Controller when collecting registration, billing, and system usage data directly from our Clients, Client administrators, and prospective Clients (e.g., when signing up for a SaaS account or booking an app demonstration).
StudyJam as Data Processor: We act as a Data Processor when processing student profiles, assignment submissions, test results, video watch times, or attendance logs uploaded or generated by Clients and End Users within a Client’s hosted mobile portal.
4. Information We Collect Through the Mobile App
To provide an optimal mobile learning experience and fulfill our software operations, we collect the following types of information:
4.1 Information Provided Directly by You
- Account Credentials: Full name, mobile number, email address, password, and institutional/organization identifiers provided during login or OTP verification.
- Verification Data: One-Time Passwords (OTPs) sent via SMS or WhatsApp for mobile login, account creation, or payment security.
- Course & Educational Inputs: Assignment uploads, test responses, chat messages, notes, discussion board posts, and profile images added directly inside the App.
- In-App Payment Details: Transaction metadata (such as transaction IDs, order dates, and purchase amounts) when buying access to courses. - Device Identification & OS Data: Mobile device model, hardware manufacture, operating system type and version (Android/iOS), unique device identifiers (Android ID, IDFV/IDFA), language preferences, and IP address.
- App Performance & Usage Analytics: App launch logs, screen view durations, button taps, video playback metrics (watch duration, resolution adjustments), offline caching logs, and error/crash reports.
- Push Notification Tokens: Unique device registration tokens generated by notification services (e.g., Firebase Cloud Messaging) to send class reminders, assignment deadlines, and administrative alerts.
4.3 Mobile Hardware Permissions
- Camera: To capture profile photos, scan QR codes for class login, or submit photo answers for paper assessments.
- Microphone: To allow your voice input during live interactive classes or voice-recorded responses.
- Storage / Photos / Media: To download study PDFs for offline viewing or upload image/document files for assignment submissions.

You may grant or revoke these permissions at any time through your mobile device’s system settings (Settings > Apps > StudyJam > Permissions). Revoking certain permissions may, however, restrict specific app functionalities.

- If we discover that personal data of a minor under 13 has been collected without verified parental consent, we will take prompt steps to delete that information from our database.
8. Mobile Security & DRM Protections
We implement robust administrative, technical, and physical security controls to safeguard your data within the mobile ecosystem, including:

9.1 Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the operational purposes described in this Policy or as mandated by your institution’s subscription contract.
